Want to keep pests out of your garden? In this review I’m looking at the Aspectek – Effective Solar Battery Powered Ultrasonic Outdoor Pest and Animal Repeller just to see how effective it is against pests and I’ll be comparing it against the best seller and cheaper Yard Sentinel.
If you have come to this page from YouTube and just want to buy the Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller you can buy it here USA Amazon.
On with the review. I’ll first cover its features and expand on them letting you know what they do and if they are good and worthwhile. I’ll then compare its features with the bestselling Yard Sentinel, and finally I’ll give you my conclusion and recommendations.
How the Aspectek Ultrasonic animal repeller works
This is a small discreet Ultrasonic repeller unit that has a motion sensor which is triggered by the movement of pests which then triggers a high frequency blast of noise. Good news this high frequency noise is inaudible to most humans but is extremely annoying to other animals and pests.
The Ultrasonic blast does not harm animals just simply and humanly startles and scares your pest away or makes your yard uncomfortable to be in.
Along with the ultrasonic sound are powerful flashing strobe LEDs which will also startle or annoy pests.
Features of the Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller
Adjustable motion sensor
This adjusts the sensitivity and range of this animal repeller.
The Aspectek Ultrasonic pest repeller has a range of 30ft (9m), if the area you want to keep pests off is less than this, then you can adjust the sensor that movement of pests only in your yard will trigger the ultrasonic sound.
Powerful high frequency
This animal scarer emits a loud high frequency noise that will either scare the pests away or make your yard uncomfortable to be in and hopefully too annoying to for pests to do their business in your flower bed.
Adjustable high frequency noise
Different pests are affected by different frequencies. You can adjust the frequency to target just one type of animal and keep your yard free from that type of pest. It works best against the following animals: cats, dogs, deer, birds, bears, squirrels, rabbits, skunks, bats, rats, foxes, raccoons.
Strong flashing lights
The Aspectek Ultrasonic pest repeller not only uses sound to frighten animals but also flashing lights.
To keep this ultrasonic scarer maintenance free the batteries can be recharged by a solar recharger discretely fitted to the top of this unit.
Weatherproof (IP77) for outdoor use
You would expect this unit to be totally weatherproof, however some people (a lot!) who have bought this product have complained that their pest repellers break down in heavy rain. I have looked up the IP77 rating and have found that this rating is none existent! more in my conclusion.
Other owners comments
There are mixed reviews for the Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller. Most users are happy with this pest repeller and its results, however there are more than I would like who comment that this unit has failed after a rain storm.
When I looked into the weatherproof features on this animal repeller I found that the weatherproof rating (IP 77) is none existent and to me suggests that they have not taken the weather proofing of this unit seriously.
Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller vs Yard Sentinel
- Range – The Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller has a range of only 30ft while the yard sentinel has a massive 50ft range
- Features – The Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller also use strobe lights to scare nocturnal pest and a solar recharging feature that the more basic Yard sentinel doesn’t have.
- Cost – At the time of writing this the bestselling Yard sentinel is cheaper than the Aspectek Ultrasonic repeller.
Conclusion Aspectek – Effective Solar Battery Powered Ultrasonic Outdoor Pest and Animal Repeller.
Instead I still think that the best-selling and at the moment cheaper Yard Sentinel is a much better buy.
